If You Can Ride A Bicycle, Faith Is The Reason

Imagine a child learning to ride a bicycle.  The child is crying because she can’t seem to get the hang of it.  Her father is consoling her, assuring her that it will happen.

Just pause for a moment and consider why the child believes she can’t master the skill yet the parent knows.

The child is projecting more of the same into her future.  She’s doing that inside her head.  She believes change won’t happen.  She doesn’t yet know the value of practice or persistence.

Now, it could be argued that the father has nothing to base his reassurances upon, but we all know he does.  His little daughter will ride a bicycle, he has no doubt, even though it’s clear that at this exact moment, she can’t.

Why does he see a different future for her?

Because he has references for the power of practice and persistence.  He has faith in that method.  He knows that she has the potential, in time, to learn far more complex skills, such as driving, swimming and playing a musical instrument … among countless others she could indulge in.

He doesn’t actually know it about his daughter, but he has enough references of his own to have unshakeable faith in her mind’s and body’s ability to learn the art of bicycle riding.

Why is this message important?

Because, most of us have faith in our ability to fail.  We think we’ve hit glass ceilings regarding our income.  Many of us imagine that true love with someone “hot” is out of our league.  Most of us behave like the child in the above scenario, not the parent, when it comes to our own personal achievement.

We dream small, not big.

We have faith in failure and we watch the 80% rather than the 20% who succeed.

Recently, I started a new business venture and some people reminded me how many new businesses fail.  The following week, I went to a meeting with 6,000 attendees who were all succeeding in that very same business.  (And they were just the tip of the iceberg.)

Faith is a matter of focus.

Believe in your success and you’ll make it.  That’s as certain as that little girl one day joyfully and freely riding her bike.

Faith and how to install it in your subconscious is just one of the mindset issues I’ll be covering in my brand new workshop/webinar, “How To Increase Your Self Worth So People Will Pay You A Fortune In 30 Days.”
