20 Second Stress Relief Process Is Very “Zen!”
Here’s an instant stress reducer.
It comes with a fascinating insight into our hidden depths too.
Ready?
Before you begin, give yourself a “stress rating” out of ten right now. Just do a quick internal scan of yourself … how tense are you physically? What’s on your mind that’s bothering you – and how much attention are you giving whatever it is?
Don’t sweat over this – I don’t want to add more stress!
Just give yourself a number, with ten being the most stressed you can imagine, and one being completely chilled out.
Okay, got that?
Now, become aware of the space between your eyebrows. (If you have a “mono-brow” become aware of the point where they meet!)
Rest your awareness there for a count of three – or thereabouts.
Then shift your awareness to the space just above your upper lip and where your nose begins.
Do that for a count of three – ish. (Don’t worry about getting this right).
Become aware of the space between your shoulder blades.
Count of three.
One more.
Become aware of the area just above your navel.
Yes, count to three.
Now … go back and check your stress rating again.
Changed, hasn’t it? I guarantee it’ll be closer to “one” than it was before.
Why is that?
The very fact that we can shift our awareness that way is pretty remarkable when you stop to think about it. If you choose to become aware of your left little toe, you can.

But what’s really going on is that by becoming aware of where you’re aware … if you see what I mean … you are in the moment. You are in a very Zen, truly hippyish way, living in the now.
You may have heard before that “now is the point of power” and now you have you have the chance to prove it to yourself.
We are so conditioned to use our powerful imaginations to extrapolate and create disaster movies in our heads – most of which will never happen – that it never occurs to us that we could choose instead to expect the best.
Most things are all right most of the time – which is a statistic I’m fond of quoting.
But more than that, there’s considerable evidence that life isn’t happening to us; it’s coming from us.
So expecting the best isn’t just an exercise in positive thinking to make you feel good for a couple of minutes until “reality” kicks in again.
It’s actually away to affect the energy field that forms the internal and external space you live and love in.
Try the stress reduction process again, only this time, at each point you become aware of, put a big smile on your face and tell yourself that wonderful things are going to happen to you today. Just have that thought silently in your mind each time.
Not only is the number on your stress rating scale likely to drop even further, not only will the “echoes” of the process last a lot longer, but it’s quite likely you’ll experience some actual good fortune.
What have you got to lose apart from a lot of stress and worry … (which has never solved a problem. Ever)?
