“You learn something new every day” they say.

Well, I’ve heard about weight loss.  I’ve heard about exercise.  But until today I’d never heard of high intensity interval exercises.

Mind you, I only recently was introduced to “dubstep” too – must be my age!  (Look it up if you don’t know!  At least I won’t be the only one).

But I digress. Back to HIIT.  (See?  I’ve learned the jargon already!)

Apparently, our bodies respond extremely well – and very rapidly – to short bursts of high intensity exercise followed by rest.  I like the second part best … but I can see that something with rhythm seems more natural than constant repetition – like your traditional gym workouts – which have always seemed to me to be a recipe for a lot of wear and tear and fatigue.

Have I tried HIIT?

I confess I haven’t.  Being the intellectual I am, (excuse), I want to read more about it first.

But the results certainly look amazing.  The woman, (yes, singular), in the photo at the top of this page went from the pudgy person you see on the right to the bikini figure you see on the left in an astonishing twelve weeks!  (She says so anyway … and she seems credible.  You can read her story here).

Now, I don’t know about you, but looking at this man and woman, I asked myself a simple question: Is there ever a bad time to start looking good?

Yes, I know it’s an odd way to phrase it, but when you think about it, it takes care of every excuse you could ever think of.

If you have weight to lose or just want to get ripped – whether you’re male or female – it seems you should definitely take a look at high intensity interval exercises … or as we enthusiasts like to call it, HIIT!
