How To Have Inspired Goals

The problem I’ve long had with goals and goal setting, including those perennials the “New Year’s Resolutions,” is that we tend to make them based on “shoulds.”  (“I should do this, I shouldn’t do that.”)

Should expresses an inner desire to do the opposite.  We think there’s some kind of rule, rhyme or reason why we can’t go on in some old way.

Whilst that may be true, I still hold that there are better ways to achieve our goals.  We need to learn to listen to higher guidance, our spirit or heart … or whatever you conceive it to be.  Only then can we act from inspiration.

The key, of course, is to learn how to discern the difference between an inspired action and an ego or emotionally driven compunction.

Here are the masters – Wayne Dyer and Eckhart Tolle exploring the matter.  Please leave your comments below the video.
