When you want something, you want it now, don’t you?

I mean, remember how hard it was waiting for Santa all December long?

(Who am I kidding 
 “was?”  It still is, right?  Okay, so I’m the only big kid around here!)

The law of attraction teaches us that we have only to focus on our deepest desires and they will, sooner or later, show up.  It’s just that “later” part that sticks in the craw.

Here are 3 top tips for getting those results sooner:

1. Let it go.  When you’ve planted the “seed of desire” your work is done.  Just like planting any seed, nature takes care of the rest.  All the affirmations and visualising rituals afterwards are signs of your impatience and mean you’re really focussing on the lack of the thing again.  (Otherwise why would you keep noticing it isn’t here yet?)

I know it’s easier said than done to let go, however, so the real key to that is through mindfulness.  Simply watch your thoughts about whatever you desire, notice how strong the emotional attachment seems to be and grade that emotion’s strength from zero to ten – ten being the strongest.

Sit for 3 to 5 minutes and simply watch your thoughts, then go back to the emotion about it, and then to the thoughts again.

(Sometimes your mind will wander off to places of its own – that’s fine.  Just gently bring it back whenever you notice it’s done that.)

At the end of your few minutes, grade the emotion’s strength again.  You’ll find it will have diminished!  The mere act of observing your thoughts takes the power out of them.

2. “Act as if” by changing your physiology.  Shifting your body language is a favourite trick of mine for many different purposes, and this is no exception.  When you’re focussed on lack, you’ll hold more tension in your body than when things are going your way.

Notice where those tensions are, (neck and face are very useful areas to check!), and then imagine how you’ll feel when everything you’ve asked for has arrived.  Adjust your body language to the way you’d walk, talk, breathe and move on that day 
 and you’ll be amazed at how fast the energy you’re putting out changes.

When that happens, as you know, you’ll start attracting similar energy – all the goodies included!

3. Use The Gratitude Attitude Platitude.  Noticing what you have and being thankful for it works, plain and simple.  Your life is rich with so many things and as one wise teacher pointed out, (Byron Katie I believe), the idea that you badly need what you do not have is a form of insanity.  Clearly, you don’t need it or you wouldn’t be here, right?  So notice what’s working, feel grateful, even feel love if it’s appropriate, and go about your day.

The rest will show up, right on cue.
